Terms and Conditions of Family Carnival 2007

Family Carnival 2007 – terms and conditions.

Family Carnival 2007 is governed by organizing Chairman and its Committee.

All appeals and complaint must be forwarded to the organizing Chairman and its Committee for considerations.

All rules, policies, conditions and amendments to the Family Carnival event must be approved by the organizing Chairman and its Committee.

The Family Carnival 2007 is restricted ONLY to family members. Any invitation beyond family members & the approved participant(s) shall appeal to organizing Chairman and its Committee for consideration. However, the extension of invitation must be accompanied by concrete reasons and extra costs shall be borne by the invitee. The organizing Chairman and its Committee will NOT bear or absorb any extra cost due to negligence of the invitee for not informing prior to the event. All must details must be forwarded to the Organizing Committee before 4th of February 2007.

The participants of Family Carnival 2007 will be provided with a FC (Family Carnival) T-shirt, accommodation for two nights (18th and 19th January 2007), breakfast, lunch and dinner on the 19th January 2007. Breakfast will also be provided on the 20th January 2007.
Participants / Occupants of the assigned room shall bear any extra costs associated with the accommodation provided by the organizing Chairman and its Committee such as Room Service, Telephone and Mini Bar expenses. The participants shall bear the responsibility if the cost were incurred by the respective occupants, other members and / or friends.
Invited friends or extended relatives shall not participate in the assigned games or events. However, they are welcome as observers and supporters.

All events shall evolve to the highest degree of sportmanship and any act of violence shall face the organizing Chairman and its Committee. The decision to disqualify the participant may confine to expulsion and/or being barred from continuing with the event.

Event points are based on 4 points – First Placing, 3 points – First Runner-Up, 2 points – Second Runner – Up and 1 point – 4th placing.

Final Team Presentation will carry eight (8) marks based on their effort and creativity in line with the theme of the Family Carnival 2007.

Children who do not observe the criteria for eligibility to participate under the Rules & Regulation set out for Children, and/or do not or reluctance to participate in any event shall be dismissed and to be sent home immediately.

Karaoke Competition:
· Male and Female 1st generation category
Songs era: 50’s, 60’s and 70’s
· Male and Female 2nd generation category
Songs era: 60’s and 70’s
· Duet (Male/Female, intergeneration mix) category
Songs era: 60’s and 70’s (50’s if it involves the 1st generation)
Language: Restricted to English and Malay/Indonesian Songs only.

The participating Groups shall be informed at least 5 days in advance of a Date/Venue for the collection of the Official FC 2007 Karaoke Competition Form. Participants are advised to submit the Forms earlier to avoid duplication in song selections as it will be strictly based on First Come First Serve Basis as spell out in the ‘Note on Submission’ in the Forms.

Tai Chi session will carry points based on number of turnouts & discipline by respective team members.

Points for tele-matches are calculated based on the overall total points of each game.

Beach soccer will be represented by three (3) males and (2) females. All representatives must be at the age of 12 and above.

Table tennis session will have 2 (two) categories, Male Double and Female Double. The game will be played as per one set which will be subset once the points reach 10. The team shall change sides and play for the rest of the 11 points.

Congkak, weaving of ketupat and flower arrangement contest will be represented by 1st generation Female members from each team.

Intellectual Coloring Contest will represented by two (2) team members aged below 12.

All dart equipments are to be provided by the organizing committee and no personal dart equipments are to be allowed during the game. The distance between the participants and the board shall be 7.5 meters for gentlemen and 6.5 meters for ladies. Each group shall be represented by at least one female member.

Carrom will be represented by open double game and subject to the Carom International Rules and Regulations of United Kingdom.

Treasure hunt will be a team effort game. No restriction to the number of participation provided they are officially Registered Participants.

Dinner presentation shall be represented by NOT less than three (3) members from of each team. There is NO restriction to the maximum number of presenters provided they are officially Registered Participants. The presentation must reflect the theme of Family Carnival 2007 – Retro Years of the 60’s and 70’s. It will carry eight (8) points. Team presentation shall not exceed 15 minutes and presentation equipments such as projector, wide screen and laptop will be provided.
