Grandchildren on the way

The gorgoues gentlement at times seeing in Black Harrier or Topless BMW driving around Kuching has ended his pre-bachelor days. Kuching town was gloomy and wet as millions of other homosapiens end in tears whereby one of the most elegible bachelor son of Datuk Abang Abdul Karim and Datin Airi tie a pre-nuptail knot last Saturday 2nd June 2007.
The event was attended by most family members and close associates of the future bridegroom. The engagement partner known as "Pit" seen happy with the proposal from the gorgeous young eligible bachelor.

Rafflesia Family Carnival Champion 2007
Congratulations to Rafflesia being the champions of Family Carnival 2007 and by leading the nearest competitor by one single point. Sunflower tried their best to compete in all events but they lost in the final segment - the total accumulated points. The tough and enjoyable competition was appreciated by all family members. The committee are greatful to our Event Chairman for his contributions and effort to ensure the game was a succcess.

Sunflower preview location prior FC2007
Sunflower Chief Executive Officer made a site visit to preview the possible location and venue held during the FC2007. Their spokeperson Abang Burhanuddin mention to us that their group is going extensive preparation for the coming FC2007. Karaoke songs are selected based on their group member's voice capability with the assistance of their appointed vocal instructor from RTM.
As for the performance, their attire has been custom made for the function and flew all the way from Kuala Lumpur. Training has been carry out at their Chairman's residence from session to sessions.
Their main intention is to uphold as reigning champion under the Chairmanship of Datuk Sri Abang Johari, Chief Executive Officer Dayang Mariani and their respective members.

Fashion Glitz
There should be a Fashion Glitz during the Family Carnival whereby members will potray their fashion gear, banners and bling2. All should be ready as the dinner nite will be extra ordinary event !
Motto has been created and drafted in all sort of manners and campagning posters are on the way. Ideas and mentors are flourishing to ensure the winning victory are theirs.
Any potential sponsors such as nike, gucci, prada, toyota, beemers, company shareholders are welcome.

We heard that Mr. Ajet went for secret training under Petronas Gurun Kedah's under Dr.Rauf's assignment. It may be combat and intelligence work that may applicable during telematches and treasurehunt. It seems he is also be under special survillence training in Kuala Lumpur. Survillence what? who and when? remain a question.
Other Members has also been acquiring technical skills and training inclusive of professional consultants to ensure victory. Rumours has been spreading that members is flying to Houston and Los Angeles for meeting and preparation of the Family Carnival. The training will be held in various areas such as Las Vegas and San Francisco.
Members who went abroad for training the special training are from Sunflower, Rose and Bunga Raya ! Quite an effort.

Terms and Conditions of Family Carnival 2007
Family Carnival 2007 – terms and conditions.
Family Carnival 2007 is governed by organizing Chairman and its Committee.
All rules, policies, conditions and amendments to the Family Carnival event must be approved by the organizing Chairman and its Committee.
The Family Carnival 2007 is restricted ONLY to family members. Any invitation beyond family members & the approved participant(s) shall appeal to organizing Chairman and its Committee for consideration. However, the extension of invitation must be accompanied by concrete reasons and extra costs shall be borne by the invitee. The organizing Chairman and its Committee will NOT bear or absorb any extra cost due to negligence of the invitee for not informing prior to the event. All must details must be forwarded to the Organizing Committee before 4th of February 2007.
The participants of Family Carnival 2007 will be provided with a FC (Family Carnival) T-shirt, accommodation for two nights (18th and 19th January 2007), breakfast, lunch and dinner on the 19th January 2007. Breakfast will also be provided on the 20th January 2007.
Participants / Occupants of the assigned room shall bear any extra costs associated with the accommodation provided by the organizing Chairman and its Committee such as Room Service, Telephone and Mini Bar expenses. The participants shall bear the responsibility if the cost were incurred by the respective occupants, other members and / or friends.
Invited friends or extended relatives shall not participate in the assigned games or events. However, they are welcome as observers and supporters.
All events shall evolve to the highest degree of sportmanship and any act of violence shall face the organizing Chairman and its Committee. The decision to disqualify the participant may confine to expulsion and/or being barred from continuing with the event.
Event points are based on 4 points – First Placing, 3 points – First Runner-Up, 2 points – Second Runner – Up and 1 point – 4th placing.
Final Team Presentation will carry eight (8) marks based on their effort and creativity in line with the theme of the Family Carnival 2007.
Children who do not observe the criteria for eligibility to participate under the Rules & Regulation set out for Children, and/or do not or reluctance to participate in any event shall be dismissed and to be sent home immediately.
Karaoke Competition:
· Male and Female 1st generation category
Songs era: 50’s, 60’s and 70’s
· Male and Female 2nd generation category
Songs era: 60’s and 70’s
· Duet (Male/Female, intergeneration mix) category
Songs era: 60’s and 70’s (50’s if it involves the 1st generation)
Language: Restricted to English and Malay/Indonesian Songs only.
The participating Groups shall be informed at least 5 days in advance of a Date/Venue for the collection of the Official FC 2007 Karaoke Competition Form. Participants are advised to submit the Forms earlier to avoid duplication in song selections as it will be strictly based on First Come First Serve Basis as spell out in the ‘Note on Submission’ in the Forms.
Tai Chi session will carry points based on number of turnouts & discipline by respective team members.
Points for tele-matches are calculated based on the overall total points of each game.
Beach soccer will be represented by three (3) males and (2) females. All representatives must be at the age of 12 and above.
Table tennis session will have 2 (two) categories, Male Double and Female Double. The game will be played as per one set which will be subset once the points reach 10. The team shall change sides and play for the rest of the 11 points.
Congkak, weaving of ketupat and flower arrangement contest will be represented by 1st generation Female members from each team.
Intellectual Coloring Contest will represented by two (2) team members aged below 12.
All dart equipments are to be provided by the organizing committee and no personal dart equipments are to be allowed during the game. The distance between the participants and the board shall be 7.5 meters for gentlemen and 6.5 meters for ladies. Each group shall be represented by at least one female member.
Carrom will be represented by open double game and subject to the Carom International Rules and Regulations of United Kingdom.
Treasure hunt will be a team effort game. No restriction to the number of participation provided they are officially Registered Participants.
Dinner presentation shall be represented by NOT less than three (3) members from of each team. There is NO restriction to the maximum number of presenters provided they are officially Registered Participants. The presentation must reflect the theme of Family Carnival 2007 – Retro Years of the 60’s and 70’s. It will carry eight (8) points. Team presentation shall not exceed 15 minutes and presentation equipments such as projector, wide screen and laptop will be provided.

Sunflower hitting it BIG!!!
Sunflower had their second meeting though it was their 1st rehearsal at their den at Matang.Only 5 did not turn up but it was good enough to create shivers to 3 Rafflesian who were also there.The singing of the Sunflower theme song was indeed a great motivating force!We would like to thank our chairman for his ever strong support and was with the rest til the wee hours and not to forget the sate ,mee and all the delicious servings..great supper!
The team would also like to say "Happy Birthday" to one lovely sunflower...Dedek!
We may have come into terms that we are the underdogs but lets not forget we would not be called underdogs if not to create upsets!

A Suprise Birthday Bash for Dayang Aldurah at Hilton Kuching
Kuching Hilton: A suprise 28th birthday dinner was orginised by our Organising Chairman for her lovely wife and a mum to be Dayang Aldurah. The dinner was attended by most family members serving chinese courses. Despite the birthday song for the lovely mom to be there are tunes such as revived Bunga Raya, Sunflower, Rafflesia and Rose catchy BINGO aired among members.
In exchange of views and sparkling wines were also held during dinner by the attending family members. Matters such as a confused Bunga Raya member over being a Rafflesian were one of the hottest topic discuss last nite.
However, the dinner ended at 10.30pm whereby everyone left in a cheerful and jolly mood. Again Happy Birthday to Dayang Aldurah from ALL OF US.

Council Meeting - No objections on the rules and regulation
Rumah Minangkabau, 13/01/2007.
A meeting was being held in conjunction to the coming Family Carnival 2007. The purpose of the meeting is to brief and resolve any potential problems with the entire program. Most of the attendees were happy with the briefing's agenda. The orginising chairman and its committee has agreed to to include Ahmad Zaiwin as part of Bunga Raya contigent. It was decided due to matters arising such as shortage of manpower and so on.
The challenge would not end there whereby one of its member Abang Hamid may reschedule his committments to ensure a win for Bunga Raya. He has sensed that with his participation it would accolade a stronger team as compared to the earlier line up.
With a strong signal that Abang Shafiee would suprise show-up and matters would be even thougher for other teams to predict its strenght and power.
Do not judge a book by its thiness....... you may slip the missing pages!

Retro Fashion
The term "retro" applied to stylistic trends in music, film, and fashion in the 1990s, that were characterized by their iconic or kitsch use of the past. Stemming from the late 1960s concept of "retrochic" developed by the Paris avant garde, retro fashion embraced the use of revival or period styles from certain counter-cultural examples of alternative consumerism.

Describing clothing, music, and films as "retro" categorized the style by time period. While certain styles have been described as "retro" because they constitute pop-cultural kitsch of some description, more concrete definitions are available. Gathering at Sunflower Chairman's Residence
There were huge turnouts by team members from their respective groups. Groups were discussing matters such as team planning, strategy as well nominating their team members for each and every event. Most group meeting were held behind glass close doors. Few members were trying to exploit the situation by spying on each other's teams meeting session for vital information.
Rose and Its Definition
A rose is a flowering shrub of the genus Rosa, and the flower of this shrub. There are more than a hundred species of wild roses, all from the northern hemisphere and mostly from temperate regions. The species form a group of generally prickly shrubs or climbers, and sometimes trailing plants, reaching 2–5 m tall, rarely reaching as high as 20 m by climbing over other plants.

Rosa canina hips
The aggregate fruit of the rose is a berry-like structure called a rose hip. Rose species that produce open-faced flowers are attractive to pollinating bees and other insects, thus more apt to produce hips. Many of the domestic cultivars are so tightly petalled that they do not provide access for pollination. The hips of most species are red, but a few (e.g. Rosa pimpinellifolia) have dark purple to black hips. Each hip comprises an outer fleshy layer, the hypanthium, which contains 5–160 "seeds" (technically dry single-seeded fruits called achenes) embedded in a matrix of fine, but stiff, hairs. Rose hips of some species, especially the Dog Rose (Rosa canina) and Rugosa Rose (Rosa rugosa), are very rich in vitamin C, among the richest sources of any plant.
The hips are eaten by fruit-eating birds such as thrushes and waxwings, which then disperse the seeds in their droppings. Some birds, particularly finches, also eat the seeds.
While the sharp objects along a rose stem are commonly called "thorns", they are actually prickles – outgrowths of the epidermis (the outer layer of tissue of the stem). True thorns, as produced by e.g. Citrus or Pyracantha, are modified stems, which always originate at a node and which have nodes and internodes along the length of the thorn itself. Rose prickles are typically sickle-shaped hooks, which aid the rose in hanging onto other vegetation when growing over it.
Some species such as Rosa rugosa and R. pimpinellifolia have densely packed straight spines, probably an adaptation to reduce browsing by animals, but also possibly an adaptation to trap wind-blown sand and so reduce erosion and protect their roots (both of these species grow naturally on coastal sand dunes). To all Bunga Rayians as mentioned in the comment section in one of the post, would like to inform our meeting will be on sat 13th jan at 2pm at seri minangkabau aka rumah nenek. we need to get our troop ready for the battle. BUNGA RAYA JUARA
Rafflesia 1st Formal Meeting
To ALL Rafflesias!
W/ exceptional to those who are outstation, (which is ok as they hv proven themselves in the last FC) there will be a Meeting on Sat 13/01/07 & thereon a REHEARSAL of 'things' we want to put on show for this coming FC....As we don't hv much time, barely 5 wks now, we have to get it right this time around before our full dress rehearsal! And not to forget, fittings shall be done on that day too. Meeting shall begin at 2.00 pm as that is the best time to conduct whatever endeavours we have as no unwanted individuals from other camps shall be around!
Venue of Meeting shall be at our very modest apartment, Unit A06 - 2 Satria Court BDC. Those w/ no transportation, pls inform Abg Lokaman or Abg Zainuddin soonest as all fleets of 4120 shall on that day be made available to fetch you door to door! Refreshments shall be prepared by our very owned celebrity chefs from East West Cafe! Like the flower itself, we always think BIG in Rafflesia!...give it a BIG sport, BIG performance, a BIG show...& w/ our BIG heart, give it a BIG VICTORY

The Chairman and the committee has proposed a Council Meeting at Rumah Minangkabau on Saturday, 13 January 2007 at 19:30hrs. The agenda of the meeting will discuss on matters such as participants terms and conditions, Itinerary of the Games, Rules of the Games, Final Presentation according to the theme of Family Carnival 2007: Retro Nite 60's and 70's.
We were informed that members will be flying in as far from Kuala Lumpur to hold their first meeting. We hope that all terms and itenary can be agreed and distributed by this weekend.

Oh...Sunflower...my heart and all my good memories are still with you...how can I ever forget you...being part of the inaugural winning team and all....BUT BEWARE sunflower...I am a Rafflesia this year...and as I bear no grudges...and do not wish Sunflower to loose...But I will make sure Rafflesia would be champion. (I've included others in the cc list as I feel appropriate for other family members to be informed of the current 'waves' that has recently hit us after the announcement of the 2nd Family Carnival 2007)
We ARE indeed full of Dynamic, Energetic & not 2 mention Creative individuals w/in Rafflesia!...Rafflesia's Chairman feels very happy w/ Rafflesia's line up this time as those who were considered to have dissappointed Rafflesia in the last FC (tst jak lah sapa those individuals are) had now been eliminated fairly thru balloting.....hehehe!...mungkin ada Rahmat that Rafflesia now being headed by the same Chairman, cos maybe it is destined to be the Champion this time w/Quality Team members....haha!
Nor, for ur info u are in Sunflower team, & coincidently headed by ur father. U can get the team list from Ain, the secretary & as u were not around during the 1st FC, u can find out more from ur Team members on what it was about....anyway, can't tell u much as I'm Rafflesia's.....hehe!

Family Carnival 2007 itinerary will be out soon!
We advice all Team Chairman and respective members to be patience as the full itinerary will be out in few weeks time. We understand that all Groups Chairman and members are ready with the plans and strategies to ensure victory in the coming event.
All details will be posted here and at Rumah Minangkabau for whoever does not have access to internet. Please contact your respective team members especially those who are away from Kuching, Sarawak.

Rainy day for Taichi
Some of us try to attend todays's Taichi session at forecourt of Puan Dayang Majihah's residence. Today's taichi session is led by Raffesia Team Chairman - Datuk Abang Abdul Karim. However due to heavy downpour in the late evening, we have to divert our attentions such as eating instant noodles infront of the laptob.
Everyone are invited for the future taichi sessions and further notices will be posted here at www.beritakami.blogspot.com. It will help all Family Carnival 2007 participants get their muscles warm-up and stretch prior to the event. Some of us need serious work-out as one of the Team Chairman commented their team members are a - bit - oversize! You may know who if you were there at the makan Hol session yesterday evening.

Family Carnival 2007 - Team Members Nomination Results
Friday 5th January 2007, Lot 263 Jalan Pattinggan, Kuching. The nominations for the next Family Carnival 2007 have been carried out last night. All family members were curious, patience, worried and eager to know the results. The nomination event was carried out in peace without any form of violence occurred or act of anger.
The nomination event was carried out based on voting session by the Chairman of the respective group. The Generation Gap were segmented into three groups: Generation One, Two and Three.
As the nomination results were announce, there were sounds of joy, tears and even short messages (SMS) of unhappiness. But matters were resolved within minutes as the efficient committee took the matter without any feeling of bias and prejudice. Immediate verbal lucrative offers exchanged in between group members to ensure motivation and victory.
